I’m sure everyone knows of the “8-hour rule” but its a lot easier to remember to put it into our own heads when we’re tired. The idea here is to get 8 hours of sleep. 8 is the number of hours of sleep each person can get in 24 hours. 6 is the number of hours of sleep that everyone can get in a single day. 8 is the number of hours that is a “safe” amount of sleep.
Everyone should set a goal for themselves. For me, it’s to get a minimum of 8 hours of sleep every night. I’ve found that a good sleep is one that starts me off on the right foot and leads me to work the next day. When I feel like I’ve been in a bad mood or need a nap, I don’t want to be thinking about my sleep. I want to be thinking about my work.
No one is suggesting that everyone should be able to go to bed at the same time. But it does happen that way for some people. For me though, 8 hours is a safe amount of sleep. It might be an extreme amount for you. But if you can get it, go for it. I guarantee you will not regret it.

Its not just that you need to get 8 hours of sleep each night, but you also need to sleep for longer periods of time. If you stay up too long, you risk injury or even death. Not only that, but you also tend to get a bit of a crash when you sleep. I know there’s a huge difference between sleeping and really going to bed, but it is that the more time you spend in bed the less time you’ll have for your day.
The good news is that you can sleep until you’re asleep. The problem is you can’t really do that on 8 hour sleep days. And you can’t really do that on 6 hour sleep days either. So while it’s possible to sleep until you’re asleep, if you don’t get enough sleep you can end up in a really bad mood.
