Android system recovery is exactly what it sounds like. It is “the second step in the Android Recovery process,” in this case, restoring your Android device to a “known good state.” It’s a process which most people don’t like, but it’s one of the most important steps to take.
The main reason people don’t like it is that the Android Recovery process can take up to an hour, and the last time I tested it, it was taking up to two hours. I was able to recover my Android phone by booting into recovery and then proceeding to do the recovery process. However, due to the way the recovery process works, there are some other Android devices which will not boot into recovery.
The android recovery process works by sending a command to the device that tells it to go through the recovery process. Once it does, you can go about your normal day with it. However, if you do this by accident, chances are you will not be able to start the recovery process. The recovery process is designed so that should you try to use it, it will not go as fast as its supposed to.
The main reason this happens is because the android system requires the device to be in the power saving mode. Once a device enters this mode, it is not able to send commands to it. So in the end you end up losing your device if you try to use the recovery process by accident.
The process itself is still in its beta phase, so this may change before it is officially released on the android market. What we need to do, however, is make sure you have the latest android version installed right now.
The recovery process does require that the phone be in power saving mode, but it only requires you to have a root and flashed recovery installed. If you are unsure how to get root and flashed recovery, you can follow this guide.
As always, this guide is for the most basic of Android phones. The Android Market is where the majority of the higher level features are, and you are almost certainly going to need the latest version of Android for those.
I have a Nexus S, and although I use it as my main phone, I am always in the market for an upgrade. I don’t want to go to the trouble of upgrading my phone every time I upgrade my tablet.
If you have a non-Android phone, you’re going to need the latest version of Android anyway. There are also a number of guides out there to help you get a working recovery on your phone. In general, most of the features that come with the latest version of Android are available just by flashing a recovery image to a phone that is running that version.
