Check out my first snow cocktail. Sweetly flavoured with almond and fresh pear, it is a delightful winter drink. Combine all of the ingredients in a cocktail shaker. Top with lots of ice, pop on the lid, and shake vigorously for 15 seconds. Strain into a glass and garnish with a grapefruit peel. Inspired by the Paloma, which means dove in Spanish, I named this whiskey/grapefruit combination after a dove found in Kentucky – the turtle dove.
As simple as fried rice sounds, there are a lot of tips, tricks, and rules to making it. Fried rice was a childhood favorite of mine, as well as a college and post-college staple. It’s a great way to use up leftover rice and whatever else you have in your fridge.
I’m happy to let them go off on these adventures and stay back home in the A/C awaiting their arrival to cook whatever they bring back. This arrangement works for me. I have a feeling it works well for Scott and Grayson because for most game hunting, you have to be very still and quiet.
I marinated them in Moore’s marinade overnight in a zip-top plastic bag. You can also use Dale’s Marinade or a teriyaki marinade. Drain and discard the marinade then pat the dove new world dev tracker breasts with paper towels. With dove season right the corner followed by most other upland game birds let’s talk about some creative dishes that are simple and super tasty.
Now, let’s look at a few popular dove recipes. This cocktail is very easy to make. Start by rimming the glass with cinnamon and sugar. You could alternatively use lemon juice or water to moisten the rim instead of agave. Our favorite dove recipe is one my hunting mom made after a family day of dove hunting near Sam’s Valley, Oregon. Long cooking times can make an already dry meat even drier.
Dove breast is considered dark meat and has a rich and slightly gamey flavor. In a shaker with ice, add all ingredients together and shake vigorously. Pour into fancy glass and top with whip cream and/or nutmeg.
